The first four books in the best-selling series by Lemony Snicket come to tonies! Follow the clever Baudelaire orphans through a darkly funny series of misadventures, where cunning villains, quirky guardians, and endless twists make every chapter an unfortunate, but wildly entertaining, event! After their parents die in a mysterious fire, orphaned siblings Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are sent to live with a series of odd and often dangerous guardians. Looming over every new home is the villainous Count Olaf, desperate to steal their family fortune. Despite their intelligence and bravery, the children face a string of unfortunate events, each more perilous and peculiar than the last. Listen along as the brave siblings begin to uncover dark secrets about their family’s past and a mysterious organization.  

The Bad Beginning:
When the Baudelaire orphans are sent to live with the cunning Count Olaf, life quickly turns grim with endless chores and cruel tricks. Through wit and courage, the children ruin his devious scheme to marry Violet and steal their family inheritance. However, Olaf escapes and vows to return, sealing the children’s fate with even greater misfortunes ahead. 

The Reptile Room:
The Baudelaire orphans find a brief moment of comfort with Uncle Monty, a kind herpetologist who plans to take them on an exciting expedition. But their hopes are shattered when Count Olaf reappears in disguise with yet another wicked scheme. The children try to expose him but he slips away again, leaving them without a safe home and deepening their misfortunes. 

The Wide Window:
Now in the care of a fearful Aunt Josephine, the children live near Lake Lachrymose. Their safety unravels when Count Olaf returns as a sinister sailor and tricks Aunt Josephine into faking her death. The Baudelaires cleverly decode her secret message but are too late to save her. Olaf escapes once more, promising more horrors are to come. 

The Miserable Mill:
The Baudelaire siblings are sent to work at a miserable lumber mill run by a heartless man named Sir. Their troubles deepen when Count Olaf returns in disguise as an eye doctor and hypnotizes Klaus. Violet uses her quick thinking to break the spell and stop Olaf’s evil plan, but he escapes once again, trapping them in an unending cycle of tragedies.
